The LABS team supports brands and retailers, factories, and workers actively in their journey throughout all phases of the LABS program.
Phase 1: Onboarding & Orientation
- Detailed orientation on the LABS program and associated processes
- Onboard factories, including coordination and FFC training
Phase 2: Assessment
- Provide assessment reports clarifying and suggesting Remediation Firms
- Offer technical support
- Assist with writing Corrective Action Plans (CAPs)
- Moderate CAP sign-off meeting between the Inspection Firm and factory
Phase 3: Follow-up visit until Corrective Action Plan (CAP) Closure
- Conduct follow-up visits at factories to monitor overall remediation progress
- Reclarify CAP requirements
- Discuss and provide clarity on challenges of implementing remedial actions
- Share details of good practices, remediation done by graduated factories, toolbox, and repertoire available on the LABS website
- Guide factory towards completing CAP to move towards graduation
- Provide a pathway for building capacity of safety-management systems
Phase 4: Graduation support
- Review documents, policies, and procedures required for graduation
- Post graduation, continue sharing resources to keep the factory updated on international practice, local legislation, accidents within the industry, LABS newsletters, etc.
- To ensure continued implementation of safety measures at factories, all graduated factories undergo a self-assessment twice a year by completing a self-assessment checklist
